We started in an old barn in small town Oklahoma in 2009. Just the two of us, mid-twenties and barely married, moonlighting after hours, designing tee shirt graphics and teaching ourselves to print on a hand-me-down fully manual screenprinting press. Our first production runs were only a dozen shirts, and our first storefront was a pop-up space in a community center in our local arts district.

A cartoon girl with big brown hair, smiling, wearing a tan shirt, brown boots, and holding a brown iPhone. She is standing with one foot on a gray step, with a beer in a mug beside her, and a small dog sitting nearby. She holds a shopping bag labeled "OKLA."
A vintage neon sign shaped like a star, with the words "SHOP 50s" and smaller text "TEE SHIRTS & GIFTS" beneath, mounted on a brick building with pink string lights against a clear blue sky.

In the 15 years since our humble beginning, we’ve graduated twice to bigger, brighter retail spaces, landing in our beautiful historic building on Broadway Avenue in downtown OKC. We hired our first intern who became our first employee (shout out to our girl Sloane!), and have steadily grown to a small but mighty crew of shop keepers, screen printers and account managers. And we’ve expanded our operations from a single 4-station manual printing press, printing maybe 60 tees a day, to an 8-station automatic powerhouse with a team who’s printing 300 tees an hour on the regular.

Live generously

From the beginning we were committed to being mindful about our processes, our people and our profits.

We’re one of the only exclusively water-based print shops in the Midwest. Our inks act more as a dye than the traditional plastic-based inks, blending and overlapping and playing off of each other, with a super soft finished feel to the print. Plus they’re completely non-toxic and pollutant free (kind of important when your first washout station is your shower).

We print exclusively on garments that are third-party certified to be socially and economically responsible. No sweatshops, no fast fashion. Because business should better the communities who support and advance it — from the cotton farmers to the garment factories to the customers who bring our goods home.
